First Ever HOME Games for Energy City's Collegiate Summer Baseball Team

After six weeks on the road throughout Western Canada, the Energy City Cactus Rats are coming home! Join us for a classic Homecoming Celebration as we welcome our team back where they belong. Save the weekend dates - July 5th and 6th - for two exciting back-to-back games at Henry Singer Ballpark in Spruce Grove. It's time to show our Cactus Rats the home field advantage they've been missing!

While construction on ENERGY CITY METRO BALLPARK continues, Henry Singer will serve as a quaint, if not familiar backdrop for this special milestone for the Cactus Rats. To some, they may be “just games”, we choose to portray this event as a celebration and a presentation involving that classic community spirit, athleticism, and the pure joy of summer baseball in Western Canada.  

In addition, with a team that has spent the entire months of May and June on the road, battling for wins as both the home and away team, Cactus Rats players are anxious to connect with the fans of the ENERGY CITY region in any way they can, regardless of venue.

Despite a win/loss record that is not yet where we would like it to be, the Energy City Cactus Rats players and coaches exemplify what makes summer baseball so special… young athletes playing for the love of the game while building lasting connections with their teammates and the communities they represent. 

LET’S PACK THE PARK
Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and settle in for that authentic, old-fashioned baseball experience! This is grassroots baseball, where everyone belongs.

WHAT TO EXPECT
This homecoming promises entertainment for baseball fans of all ages:

• Meet Your Cactus Rats:
  • Post-game meet and greet with the players! 
  • All are welcome to run the bases, get autographs and take photos with the players!
• Food and Refreshments:
  • Local food trucks will be on-site.
• Exclusive Merchandise:
  • The official Cactus Rats merchandise store will be on site for both games, giving fans the chance to show their team pride with authentic gear and apparel.
  • Online option to gear up with merch ahead of time! Tickets are still available online, but with the limited seating due to the venue's capacity we strongly encourage fans to secure their tickets early!
