METRO EDMONTON - Having set an admittedly optimistic start day in the fall of 2024, delivery of key materials has been delayed and has given the team no option but to adjust its start date. Due to an unforeseen delay in the seating for the stadium, (which was due in April) the June 7, 8, and 12 home games will be relocated. 

The June 7 and 8 games will now be hosted at the beautiful Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, while the June 12 contest finds a temporary home at Gulls Stadium in Sylvan Lake. The revised Home Opener at Metro Ballpark is now slated for June 24.

Energy City Cactus Rats Managing Partner, Patrick Cassidy stated, “While we are disappointed with this decision, we know it’s the right decision. Fans should also be aware that we will not get every aspect of this ballpark completed and ready for the 2025 Season. When we made the decision to open in 2025, we had set out minimum standards that had to be in place, and one of those key standards was seating for our fans.”

ALL Cactus Rats Season Ticket Holders, past, present, or future, will be provided a 3-game credit on their ticketing accounts which can be used for their choice of the following: (1) 2025 playoff games, (2) 3 games for the 2026 season or (3) a pro-rated discount on 2026 season tickets.

With the field ready, seats installed, and our team suited up, we're giving ourselves the green light to play ball on June 24. We invite our fans to join us in Okotoks on June 7 & 8 and in Sylvan Lake on June 12, where we'll bring the Cactus Rats spirit to our temporary homes. Then, mark your calendars for June 24 at Metro Ballpark in Spruce Grove!
